Sue Vincent’s #writephoto Photo Prompt for this week is “Keep,” featuring the image below. I’ve written a Nonet, a poem written in nine lines with 9/8/7/6/5/4/3/2/1 syllables per line.

Memories Locked in Stone
From the shadows of the castle keep
I watch and wait for my ladylove
whose misty form inhabits
the aged walls remaining
a prison fortress
to bind our hearts
time without
birth or
end

I enjoyed your nonet (another new form for me to consider). I look forward to reading what the other poets create from the prompt photo.

Beautiful form and poignant words that create story, ancient memories of past lives, and love … what more could anyone ask for in the brevity of pregnant poetry. Aha, perfection!
