“Still Cold (Yokan)” haiku

Frank Tassone is buried in three feet of snow! For his Haikai challenge #177, this week he asks us to write our favorite haikai poem (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) alluding to either:

  • Still Cold (yokan)/New Year (Shinnen)
  • Mardi Gras/Ash Wednesday

crunching tires, still cold

  1. Not sure where it’s coming from, but we are supposed to get another ‘dump’ of white stuff staring over night and into tomorrow. Hubby is building a ‘shelter’ for our heat pump. Just sort of a lean-to to keep the majority of snow off the top of the unit. Kinda tough when you really only have one source of power and it is all electric.

    Keep warm!! ((Hugs))
