Pu-Chai
“How much is the black puppy?” I pointed to the fuzzy Pomeranian in the cage.
“That one? I’ll have to check. He’s been here for months.”
Dark, soulful eyes stared at me as if the pup understood the conversation.
“Pure black Pomeranians are rare. Is he papered?”
“Yup. Two champions in his line. Nobody wants him because he’s all black. You know, bad-luck.”
He nosed my hand through the cage.
“I’ll take him.”
“Looks like you are in the right place at the right time. He’s on sale, only $99.00.”
“Sold.”
In my arms, Pu-Chai found his new home.

**Note: This is a true story. The name Pu-Chai, means black in Thai. This little guy lived with our family for 14 years. We still miss him.

So sweet! I’m glad you found each other.
So weird to me not to want a pet because of color.

Right? I couldn’t believe it. He was a sweet dog. He grew up with our five kids. It was hard losing him. ❤️

It is. I was so thankful to find a lovely home for Freyja. Her new mom sends me photos. I miss that little black kitty. ❤

What a lovely story.
As a person owned by dogs and cats, all of them rescues, stories like this one always bring tears.

Awww, that is so sweet. After Puchai, we ended up with the two Pomeranian sisters, Sugar and Spice. They’re no longer with us, but I think of all of my fur babies often. Still miss them. ❤

For me, color never mattered… I couldn’t believe the little guy wasn’t adopted because of his color. ❤

When we got Sherky they didn’t say that but I assume it might have been the reason too. I like it that way because I feel safer with her out. Strange isn’t it? Our poor postman is utterly scared of her even though she only wants cuddles 🤣🙋♀️🐝

Right? Just goes to show we should never judge a book by its cover. Still holds true. LOL! ❤

What a heart-felt story ❤ I have a calico kitty and some cultures view calicos as bad luck. My kitty brings so much joy to my life that I can't imagine life without her.

I had a tortoiseshell cat! She was Pu-Chai’s kitty! Those two had so much fun together. I bet she’s a beauty! ❤️🐈

😀 That’s so adorable! I love how pets have pets 😀 Yes, my cat is beautiful. Strangers who see her say she’s beautiful. My cat takes after me 😀
