This is your friendly reminder that the Word Weaving Poetry Journal is accepting submissions until July 15, 2021.
We publish haiku, senryu, haiga, gogyohka, tanka, tanka prose, haibun, cinquain poetry including any cinquain variations, Etheree, nonet, shadorma, Badger hexastich, Abhanga, and Diatelle syllabic poetry forms. We would love to see your work. If accepted, we will strive to present your work in such a way as to make you proud.
We share a broad view of what makes up haiku and senryu. We are not hostile to 5-7-5 but expect to publish more poems with fewer syllables. We are open to 1, 2, & 3 lines and other configurations.
We accept submissions from May 15 through July 15 for our first October issue. There is no submission fee.

Send us your magical poetry!
Beautiful tanka and pics to go with. The one of the trees reminds me of a cell or the surface of a pond.

Thank you, Lisa. I’m babysitting my son from another mother’s dogs this weekend. They have a beautiful place. Nature is magical here. It speaks to you. ❤️

Not too bad, so far. I had hoped for more entries but we’ll go with what we receive. Fingers crossed everyone is waiting for the last week! LOL! ❤

Ah yes. I have to keep reminding myself about the submission. It’s coming up really fast, I have so much going on.
Lovely tanka. I thought that was your new place. Was about to say you don’t need to plant anything. So peaceful looking🙂.

Yes… don’t forget to submit! No, I’m at my son from another mother’s place near the Grand River. I’m dog sitting while they are at a family reunion up north. It’s a spectacular place. I’ll share more photos. The WIFI here is iffy! ❤

This is perfect as my local blue jay is complaining as we speak. No whispering here! (K)

It’s gorgeous. His house reminds me of a mountain lodge in the forest. The river is beautiful! Lots of kayaking going on this weekend. ❤️

Lovely, Colleen. Your tanka and photo perfectly capture the sentiment. Beautiful. I’m hoping to submit to your journal. June was not mine, with the move and craziness. I’ve a bit more time now, so we’ll see. 😊

I am always amazed at mushrooms. The variety seems endless. Be very careful though about harvesting wild mushrooms! I’ve read anything with color, especially yellow shouldn’t be consumed.
There actually is a type of mushroom that grows in what is called a fairy circle. One myth is:
‘According to many English and Celtic tales, any human who enters a fairy ring will be forced to dance with the creatures, unable to stop until they go mad or perish of exhaustion.” 😀

Yes! You’re correct, Jules. Many of these mushrooms are safe, but I still wouldn’t eat them. I do love the textures and colors. They’re a magical plant that brings to mind all sorts of magical creatures. ❤️
