Such gorgeous sets of Senryu, Colleen! You went the extra mile and brought back volumes of emotions with you to share- I love the scent of roses just before dawn. Thank you so much for writing to the prompt ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks, Sanaa… sometimes a few words tell an entire life story. Those rose smells prompt many memories, don’t they. This was a lovely prompt. Thanks so much. ❤️

It sounds like you expressed a love full cycle Colleen — but a love nonetheless. Happy Valentines Day my friend. 🙂✌🏼❣️

It is… thank goodness that’s many years in the past for me. All those experiences seem like another lifetime ago.

They do. And yet I find I’m seeing them with a clarity I lacked at the time.

I agree. My husband and I went through nearly the same things with our ex-spouses. (We’ll be married 38 years in April). We’ve never looked back.

Thought provoking, Colleen. I wonder which time of your life is better – the bridal suite days or now when we are older and our children are nearly grown or grown.

Definitely the latter, Robbie. When we’re young we often make mistakes or misjudge ourselves. As we get older there’s an acceptance and relization of who you are. I wanted the senryu to show that love isn’t always sunshine and roses.

And it did which is probably why my mind went to this reflection.

Love is not always sunshine and roses. Sometimes relationships end, which is not a bad thing if it ran its course.
