The form I used was the Double Ennead, a form I created for Carrot Ranch.com which consists of 99 syllables: 3 verses of 6, 5, 11, 6, 5 syllables. Other than the 99 syllable count, you can add end rhymes or anything else to make the form interesting.

An avid reader, Colleen M. Chesebro rekindled her love of writing poetry after years spent working in the accounting industry. These days, she loves crafting syllabic poetry, flash fiction, and creative fiction and nonfiction.
In addition to poetry books, Chesebro’s publishing career includes participation in various anthologies featuring short stories, flash fiction, and poetry. She’s an avid supporter of her writing community on Word Craft Poetry.com by organizing and sponsoring a weekly syllabic poetry challenge, called #TankaTuesday, where participants experiment with traditional and current forms of Japanese and American syllabic poetry.
Chesebro is an assistant editor of The Congress of the Rough Writers Flash Fiction Anthology & Gitty Up Press, a micro-press founded by Charli Mills and Carrot Ranch.
In January 2022, Colleen founded Unicorn Cats Publishing Services to assist poets and authors in creating eBooks and print books for publication. In addition, she creates affordable book covers for Kindle and print books.
Chesebro lives in the house of her dreams in mid-Michigan surrounded by the Great Lakes with her husband and two (unicorn) cats, Chloe & Sophie.

Brilliant take on the prompt Colleen! 👏👏👌👌The imagery is wonderful and the story painted is captivating! 😮😁❤️
Gorgeous! It seems this image was a favourite for many. Your poem is comforting and full of hope. The repetition of “hang a paper moon” is so effective. Made me sigh…….
I understand! 🙂 And my blog is the main social media platform that I use, and if I share on FB, it’s on my author page, not so much on my personal account. Just fyi. Thank you! 💐💗
Oh, I really connected with the artwork, Merril. These are great inspiration for writer’s block. Thanks. We all need that hope right now. There’s so much going on.
Colleen, I like and like again. The paper moon theme is great, almost always intriguing, and your irregular rhyme is yummy. Even liking better is my feelings toward your form, I like to write with syllabic requirement’s, mine get singsongy at times. Mostly solidly, all lines the same.
..
Thanks Jim. I created this form to be 99 syllables. I like the natural rhythm of the syllable count. You could add end rhymes to this form too. I appreciate your kind comments.

Thanks Kerfe. I figured if we wish on stars, why not hang our dreams on paper moons?

I like to use repetition to make a point. It works okay in this piece because of the three stanzas. Thanks so much, Melissa.
