An avid reader, Colleen M. Chesebro rekindled her love of writing poetry after years spent working in the accounting industry. These days, she loves crafting syllabic poetry, flash fiction, and creative fiction and nonfiction.
In addition to poetry books, Chesebro’s publishing career includes participation in various anthologies featuring short stories, flash fiction, and poetry. She’s an avid supporter of her writing community on Word Craft Poetry.com by organizing and sponsoring a weekly syllabic poetry challenge, called #TankaTuesday, where participants experiment with traditional and current forms of Japanese and American syllabic poetry.
Chesebro is an assistant editor of The Congress of the Rough Writers Flash Fiction Anthology & Gitty Up Press, a micro-press founded by Charli Mills and Carrot Ranch.
In January 2022, Colleen founded Unicorn Cats Publishing Services to assist poets and authors in creating eBooks and print books for publication. In addition, she creates affordable book covers for Kindle and print books.
Chesebro lives in the house of her dreams in mid-Michigan surrounded by the Great Lakes with her husband and two (unicorn) cats, Chloe & Sophie.

I love that song and video. You’re poem is great, Colleen! I especially love the last line! 🙂
Thanks, Francie. As you can see, my eye strain is back. The darker colors are so much easier on my eyes. Guess what? On the safari browser there is a setting for dark mode. Also, I can switch to the reader view on the blogs, which turns the posts into a dark view with no distractions! This has really helped my eyes. 💖
Opera is Chinese owned and I’ve read some unsavoury things about the company. I did try using the browser on my MAC and it doesn’t work for me. Safari doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles. It’s working, so I won’t complain. The Safari reader mode is excellent. I can even use the reader on my iPhone which takes care of the glare too!
Opera is Chinese owned but located in Norway, which have very strict laws, however, I get your gist. I can’t use Safari because I have Windows. I use Vivaldi mostly and Firefox.
I did know about the company with its location in Norway. I should have added that. This new Mac seem pickier than my older Mac did. Apple has updated Safari so that has really helped. Firefox, Vivaldi, and Chrome freeze on me. And it’s consistent. It could be something to do with the Mac operating system. I thought they had a version of Safari you could use on Windows. They do, but it’s not a current version, so it’s not worth your time. I also read that WP is working on getting previews built of the FSE themes so we can see what the theme looks like. I also read that classic themes aren’t going away… yet. The advice was to move to an FSE theme as soon as you could. That didn’t sound good to me. LOL! I think there would be a riot if they made us switch themes that quickly.
I read that about Windows, as well so yes, not worth my time. I also read about previews built in the FSE themes – wow, why didn’t they do that from the beginning. I had a feeling the classic themes will eventually go away, Sigh.
Some of the FSE themes aren’t too bad once it’s built but what a time consuming pain in the you know what to make it look good.
I will start working with Unicorn Cats Publishing.com to see how I can make that site work in FSE. Widgets are still necessary, so I’ll see what I can manipulate. 💖
Awe, I think everyone wants to have fun.
We went to our grands elementary school talent show yesterday – our grand sang the song from “Matilda” the musical “Naughty” – with an English accent to boot (just one of the forth graders!)

Such a fun song! I loved 80’s music and still do. I spent the early 80’s in the Air Force stationed in England. Great music!

It was all synonyms for the words, work and play. I thought it would be fun to combine them. I’m just happy it worked. LOL!

Most welcome, Colleen. I’ve been using Opera which also has a dark mode. I will try Safari next. 💖

3 FSE themes have a sidebar and widgets – Stewart, Rainfall, and Bitacora. Bitacora is pretty close to a classic theme. Good luck! 💖
