I strive to become a literary artist... exposing my soul I examine the beauty found in the silent moments
Some days, the words flow from my heart, as if a river of creative energy has let loose to flood the page with words. Other days, the words can’t find an outlet. My thoughts are thick like mud.
Literary art is more than crafting words on a page. It’s also the spoken word, which often finds me with my heart stuck in my throat.
Listen to me…
Finding the courage to embrace and share out loud—therein lies the magic.
This is a bit of a BOTS as I prepare for a speaking engagement. I vow to overcome my fears.

Truly you are a true word-artist, your heart and emotions shine through in all you do. Even muddy moments can bring a clarity sometimes missed.
Sort of like a mistake in a crafting project, changes the plan and make for a better more creative creation. ☺️

Thank you, E.C. What a lovely thing to say. I’m learning to not judge myself so harshly. It’s only me that demands these high standards. I just have to relax and be me. LOL! 💜

We are our own worst critics, that’s for true. I find it’s not always easy to relax and just be yourself, but when finally, we learn to do so, the creativity flows in a better stream. 💜

That’s what I’m thinking too. I have to be me. 😀

Thanks, Sadje. Speaking to a crowd always intimidates me. I’ll be in deep meditation today. LOL! 🙏🏻😂

Colleen,
I had no idea when I asked you to speak to my hometown fiction writing group that you hadn’t done it before. Nor did I get an inkling that you were apprehensive.
My group was pleased with your delivery and what they learned. As Rick I. said, your presentation is why we can say the group teaches the HOW of what makes us better writers. Well done. Thank you.

Thanks so much, Sue. I’m glad I did well for the group. I’m always my worst critic! 🥰

Magic, indeed, Colleen! We conjure so much inwardly and expelled the heart symbols outside of ourselves like a word birth. Public speaking or presenting or reading adds the complex layer of a public birthing, lol!

I keep telling myself the first stories were spoken… it has to be part of our writers toolbox. Sometimes, the spoken story has more power!

Thanks so much, D. I made it through my speaking engagement. A public speaker, I am not. LOL. I actually had fun, so my fear could have been more with trying something new.
